Experiences of a Lifetime (Tokyo)

Connecting with Kanagawa School District Students in Oakland & Japan

Of all the places PBC's ever visited, Japan was the one with the most interaction and community building.  Throughout our journey to Japan, students visited places like Zushi Junior and Senior High School, Shibuya Crossing, Edo River, Tokyo Tower, Shinjuku, Tokyo's Disneyland, and Narita.  This was amazing because Kanagawa students who visited our very own Castlemont High School were honored to have us tour Tokyo with them.  The pictures below are heartfelt, especially since students worked so hard to plan these experiences and make it become reality.

Help Us Help Students See the World

We've officially decided on taking PBC students to Indonesia in 2025 and we need your help!  This is something we want all students to have access to and the only way to make this happen is to donate and support our youth!  Support by making a monthly contribution and help youth change their perspectives and build their legacies.

Imperial Palace (Tokyo)

Imperial Palace Tokyo was a time to team build, reflect, and learn about Japan’s amazing culture and history. PBC 2024 is amazing!! So much fun!!ing your business offers? Say it here.

Zushi Junior and Senior High School

We’d like to thank Zushi Junior and Senior High School for welcoming us with open arms to their campus in Zushi, Japan.  They put on the most amazing performance and made our experience unforgettable. It started with a commute on the JR to Zushi, followed by a meet and greet at the train station. Next, we walked their community before arriving to their campus, situated right along Zushi Beach. Once on campus we watched students perform hip hop dance, Taiko (Japanese Drumming), and canoeing. Students took tons of pictures, had tons of laughs, and shed some tears when it came time to depart and return to our hotel city.   PBC teaming up with Kanagawa School District is something that we’ve been waiting for since we started.  The goal was always to bridge the gap between Deep East Oakland and Asian countries by setting up a gateway of foreign exchange that allows our communities to be together despite the borders, an ocean, the expenses, the politics, language barriers, or the fear of the unknown.

Thank you #tokyoriverfriends for this amazing opportunity!!🚀🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
